Signature congratulates The Pierre for their Five Stars!

The Pierre, A Taj Hotel, in the heart of New York City, has just earned the distinguished honor of being named a Five-Star Hotel by Forbes. The historic property is situated at the corner of 61st and Park Avenue and boasts views of the Upper East Side and Central Park. While The Pierre is a new addition to Forbes’ prestigious list, the hotel has been the place to be seen since the early 1920's where the crème de la crème regularly hosted ladies’ luncheons. debutante calls and high-society weddings.

Reopened in 2009 after a $100 million renovation to the guest rooms and public spaces. The first floor of the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel now accommodates a stylish lounge, Two E, which serves afternoon tea by day, classic cocktails until midnight and light bites with both.

Today, the 1930s Georgian-style building is a mix of old and new. The gorgeous hand-painted murals are still there (even in the fitness center), but they now share space with Indian artwork, some of which hails from the Taj flagship in Mumbai. Guest rooms have been updated to include larger bathrooms (with separate tub and shower) but retain the same elegant, traditional décor longtime guests have come to expect. Rooms are dressed in a soothing palette of ivory and taupe with touches of coral and soft blue, and feature dark wood furnishings and plush beds with tufted headboards and rich fabrics. A variety of large suites have kitchens, and dining rooms, and some have large terraces with views of Central Park. However, one important thing remains the same: Brides still dream of being married inside the ornate Grand Ballroom with its hand-painted silver and gold ceiling and enough space to seat 1,500 guests.
